Ground Hog Event
Once a year the Club holds a shoot
sponsored by Lee Mosteller in honor of his father. The shoot is held on
the same day as our Buffalo Shoot, normally in June, and is split into
two parts. One for modern gun shooters and one for buffalo gun shooters.
In the modern class, any gun you can carry to the line and shoot off
hand is legal. In buffalo class, any single shot rifle with exposed
hammer is legal and you are allowed to use cross sticks to support the
rifle. The target is a full
size paper ground hog at distances of 200 yards.
Last year there was two trophies, glass mugs with $100.00 in each. The cost to participate is $5 for 5 shots.
