Steel shooting is a fast paced activity where shooters face an array of steel plates and knockdown targets which provide instant audible and visual hit feedback. Our steel shoots consist of 4 unique stages every match. Each stage has 8-12 steel targets and on occasion swinging or popup cardboard silhouettes. Scoring is done using Vickers Count.
A handgun and a belt-worn outside the waistband (OWB) holster are required. Both lead and FMJ ammunition are permitted. Loaded velocities should be kept under 1300fps. Caliber should be 9mm and up.
The following pistol subclasses will be scored separately:
Registration is 9:00 AM- 9:44 AM, Mandatory Safety meeting (If you don't attend the meeting you don't shoot) 9:45 AM
Shooting begins at 10:00 AM and is usually done by early afternoon.
Safe gun handling is closely adhered to, with penalties for not doing so. We have a strict policy of handling all longarms by the butt with the muzzle down to and from the firing line. Your handgun will not leave your holster unless it is your turn to shoot.
REGISTRATION FEE: $10.00 per class. Shooters may shoot multiple classes but must pay and fill out a score sheet for each class.
